Watanabe distillery works with 2 varieties of home-grown sweet potatoes which are typically used for making shochu: Kogane Sengan and Daichi no Yume, cultivated by hand in rich, fertile soil. This light, refreshing, mildly sweet and sharp Shochu is excellent chilled or on the rocks.

Watanabe Distillery is a shochu distillery in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture. Mannen means 10,000 years in Japanese. There is an old Japanese proverb: Cranes live for 1,000 years, turtles live for 10,000 years. The name was chosen to share and celebrate the reputed long lives of cranes and turtles.
