Produced for nearly 50 years, this is Favorita (also known as Vermentino or Pigato) from estate-owned vineyards in Piedmont's Roero, near Monticella d'Alba. The name Fallegro combines Favorita (the grape) with allegro, meaning cheerful. An apt description, this versatile white is fresh, dry and wonderfully aromatic. Floral, citrus and a touch of almond all lead to an incredibly zesty finish. A delicious 'frizzante' style wine, halfway between still and sparkling, it makes you think of summer all year-round.
