One of the best Muscadet from a good vintage. It is the wine to drink with seafood, especially oysters. Light-bodied, mineral-edged, made in France’s Loire Valley with the white Melon de Bourgogne grape, from vineyards hard up against the Atlantic, it’s one of the world’s great partners for food of all kinds. Muscadets that are labelled “sur lie”, like this one, rather than just plain muscadet, have extra complexity from being aged on its lees, the yeast residues left over from fermentation. Sustainable.
