Pinot Noirs from Washington state take advantage of the apple and cherry orchards that once were located where the grapes are now grown as well as those orchards that now exist surrounding the vineyards. You can taste the apples and cherries in the wine. Here also you find exceptional soil fertility from the volcanic ash left by the Mt. Saint Hellens eruption. Hot days and very cold nights make the conditions ideal for grape growing in this region of the world. This is a dryish pinot noir that really holds the fruit.
